NIST Traceability
All Zero Drift calibrations are performed using reference standards that have documented traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or other recognized national metrology institutes.
Our traceability chain includes:
- NIST or equivalent national metrology institute maintains primary standards
- ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories calibrate our reference standards
- We use these reference standards to calibrate your equipment
- Complete documentation links each level of the traceability chain
Each calibration certificate includes a traceability statement identifying the reference standards used and their calibration sources, ensuring confidence in measurement results.
Measurement Uncertainty
Understanding measurement uncertainty is critical to making informed decisions about equipment accuracy and suitability for use. Zero Drift evaluates and reports measurement uncertainty for all calibrations.
Our uncertainty analysis considers:
- Reference standard uncertainty from calibration certificates
- Measurement repeatability and reproducibility
- Resolution limitations of standards and units under test
- Environmental effects (temperature, humidity, pressure)
- Instrument drift and stability characteristics
Reported uncertainties are calculated using methods consistent with the ISO Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM) and are stated at approximately a 95% confidence level (k=2).
